So I was owed a few lieu days from working over the holiday period and decided to take them off this week, just to use them.

A good opportunity to get things done that I can't normally do during the week, I thought.

However, I've completed my to do list and I still have 2 more days off.

So shift workers of OCUK :);
What do you do on your weekdays off while your friends are at work?

Also, I have no problem in doing things on my own, but some things are more fun with company.

I just don't want to spend the next 2 days watching Topgear reruns or spend 10 hours playing CS:GO feeling like I've wasted my days off.

I have this every single week, i work in retail so only get two days off during the week.

It sucks so much, i spend my days drinking waay to much coffee and sitting on my pc :( I'd like to see the responses to this too.

Days off to waste? Become an OcUK moderator!

Ok not serious. Actually in my case, pretty serious :o

Do the stuff other people get done at the weekend. Wash the car, go shopping, run errands.

It's a lot quicker in the week and everywhere's a lot quieter which is good.

Other than that, mooch about.

Having days off during the week and working weekends is swings and roundabouts. I enjoy my days off during the week, and I like the alone time, but it does suck on a saturday sometimes. I don't work every weekend day but most of them.

I usually fit in a spot of crying before slowly dying of loneliness and lack of purpose.

I used to do this. Lately got back into a bit of electronics messing about building headphone amps, various solar based projects, etc. its not the cheapest of hobbies though.

My weekends in off usually consist of playing games, watching some movies / tv shows / anime. Then it dawns on me sunday night, i have to get up early tomorrow and go back to work :(

Work is usually the only socialising i do if you can call it that. Does get tiresome talking to people all day though (call centre) when i really don't care about their problems (or should i say whining about nothing trying to get money off their bills)

Would gladly take the offer. Got 7 days a week of doing bugger all.

Though hoping I get this job I went for a interview for yesterday. 28 grand starting pay. yes please :D

Well I was in the office from 6.30am yesterday, and I left early at 2.30pm, as I had to be in at midnight.... still in the office now, should be leaving soon, and I'll be getting home as the Mrs and kids head off to school.

I'll probably need a couple of hours kip, and then a day of consoles and guitar playing beckons me :)

Find little projects to do. I run a small website, I recently set up a Plex / Sickrage server, I redid both our bedrooms, bathrooms, keep the house clean and organized, and I'll be giving matched betting a go soon enough.

Then there's the gym, which I should attend much more than I do, cooking nice food, wash the car regularly, maybe even start a small business on the side.

I've been on shift for 19 months now, 14 days a month off. 7 of the days that I work are nights and some are weekends so even whilst at work, I tend to have quite a bit of time for myself. I'm starting a degree later this year too.

Luckily I have a gym at work which I can use, and loads of things to do online to keep me busy.

Once you get used to having the time off it's lovely. I feel guilty playing games now on my days off because I know how much I could be achieving. I won't be doing this forever so I need to make use of it as much as I can, hence the degree.

I knkw what you mean, at first I also felt lost and wasn't touching sides but once you realise how much you can improve yourself without distraction using the time off you have, it opens a world of opportunity.

Boring people get bored.

I love that saying because its so true,

I am currently on a contract (6 months min) that requires I work nights (3/week) I have most weekdays off, with most of the work at the weekend,

to solve the issue of midweek boredom (not that I get bored doing nothing) I have upped my Gym routine, went back to learning guitar, and I am now thinking of learning German or Spanish, as I still have a little time over.

or as a last resort I clean, I love cleaning, but only when the house is empty. Even better is a deep clean of one area, like a bedroom or kitchen area.

today I am truly having a day off, I am going to do nothing, and watch the remaining episodes of 'The Blacklist' in peace and quiet.

boring people get bored. ;)
