Weekend Football - 8th-9th November [*Spoilers*]

and why did Ferguson take Ronaldo off at half time? Oh! Just joking, but he really doesn't provide in big games.

Cant get a club game bigger than the Champions League Final!!

Arsenal won well today no doubt - two good goals, and another 3 or 4 decent chances, but Man Utd's defending is dreadful at the moment, whether its because Brown isnt playing (maybe a part of it, but not wholly down to him)
- Vidic and Ferdinand look like totally different players to last season

IF Utd had scored their chances early on (how many did they have before Arsenal's first....3 or 4) Utd would have strolled it, but too wasteful in front of goal, too wasteful of freekicks and three primary players firing blanks straight at goalies

I personally think Utd are really missing Hargreaves, not only would he have cut out a lot of the Arsenal attacks today, but he can also boss the midfield more than we were able to further up the pitch

The only player of note in a blue shirt was Rafael for a decent strike, but it was too little too late, Tevez is playing for a transfer - he is that dreadful at the moment (I know Utd wont get a penny, but he just doesnt seem to want to play for Utd any more)

There were ten very decent players in blue from the start (Neville is 2 seasons past his best), hardly any of them were worthy of their place today
- and I only say the first part on past achievements, they all had the capability of giving a beating to Arsenal but today it was vice-versa

Utd will be lucky to finish 2nd this season, evne that looks like a challange too far at the moment

edit - yes I know its early in the season, if we werent conceding so many I wouldnt be half as worried, but our defence is that shocking and seemingly getting worse. Not only that but with the Japan trip coming up, I can see us being 2 or three games behind by the time we are back (and in midtable) with injuries to contend with, may well leave too much to do (esp with those games to fit in when all other teams are resting)

Well done Arsenal, despite being written off on recent performances, they put in a good display. We looked toothless, absolutely toothless up front. It took a substitute defender to score for us! Gary Neville should not start, Nasri was running riot on our right side. Too many times our players let the ball slide past them in the hope it ran onto another blue shirt and it didn't. Silly passes, stupid decisions and our defence seems to have forgotten how to defend. We didn't make enough of our chances, and the decision making in the final third at times was woeful.

If I was a neutral fan I would have enjoyed the game as it was proper end to end stuff, but I'm not so I didn't have fun watching us play today at all. If Tevez is serious about wanting to become a permanent fixture in our team, he needs to do more when he's on the pitch. I certainly would not buy him come the next transfer window.

P.S As much heart as Park has, he is still a bloody headless chicken.

We must have had three or four times the amount of chances on goal that Arsenal had, but the difference is that they took two of theirs, and we only took one of ours.

I'm really starting to think that we wasted the money on Berbatov, no doubt he's a good player but we really need someone who can score goals. We seem to play with two attacking midfielders up front.

And there are far worse posters in this forum than Rizla, but due to their status, seem to be immune from punishment.

Arsenal played well today they fully deserved their win. As for United, not many of the players really looked up for it today, united had plenty of possession but just didn't know what to do with it in the final 3rd. Rooney was absolutely awful today, he's just not consistent enough for me, on his day he is world class but more often then not he's not performing. He wasted a host of really good chances and in these big games you have to take them chances. Then again Berbatov was another man upfront who again isn't looking good, giving the ball away to often. On a positive not Rafiel Da Silva done well when he came on and i thought first half Anderson played half decent, had some good runs, strong on the ball. But overall United to me looked lacklustre, tired maybe the Celtic game midweek took it out of them, I'm not sure but they need to up their game.
They've taken only 1 point of the top 3 teams, if you want to win the premiership you need to beat the top teams, I know they have played them all away but after Christmas united are going to have to win their home games against the big 3 or there in a lickle bit of trouble.

Do share!

No point. They'll dispute it and turn it around so that I end up being the one getting the holiday.

It's been the case on these forums since I joined anyway. Rather than being irritating i've just gotten used to it, but it doesn't make it any more right.

Reina, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Agger, Carragher, Mascherano, Gerrard, Kuyt, Benayoun, Riera, Keane. Subs: Cavalieri, Hyypia, Torres, Alonso, Babel, Insua, El Zhar.

Liverpool 11:
-------------Reina
-Arbeloa-Carra-Agger-Aurelio
Benayoun-Masch-Gerrard-Riera
-----------Kuyt-Keane

It's possible that Benayoun will start behind Keane with Kuyt on the right but i think the above is most likely. Torres is on the bench.

edit: beaten by a copy and paste :(

OT: Which of you meanies banned Fibre_Optic? I enjoy winding him up :(

He'll be back:p
