Weekend Football **SPOILERS** 14-16 March

Scholes and Giggs wont be playing tomorrow.

Lineup

---VDS---
--O'Shea-- Rio -- Vidic -- Evra--

-- Park -- Fletcher -- Anderson -- Ronaldo

--- Rooney -- Tevez --

Berba should be droped to the bench. Against Inter he was missing. Terrible.
Park and Fletcher will be doing the hard/donkey work.

2-0 to United. Hopefully Anderson to score a screamer. :D:D

Hopefully after whooping the scousers *** tomorrow, Scousers season will come to a holt. :D

This is going to be a tough, 120 mins away on Wednesday to face a side that's going to be really physical. Walrus **** hasn't got a bad record against us mostly due to instructing his players to kick seven shades of crap out of us..sorry..by being "physical".

Quite annoyed that Eduardo's injured again, though in all honesty, it's probably a good thing not to feature against the type of match tomorrow's will be. I'd like to see Walcott start and do something, especially since he was almost non-existant against Roma.

There's a theory that he's not really injured and that Wenger doesn't think he's psychologically ready for games like this. I don't really believe it/care but it would make a lot of sense

I'd like to see...

VdS
O'Shea - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Giggs - Carrick - Park
Rooney - Tevez

Giggs had (I thought) a good game against Inter and we need to play him when he's on form, and I think he is at the moment.

I don't know what the deal is with Nani but I would pick him to run down the left, assuming he's not injured (i've left Park there as I think he is?).

Also is there any chance of seeing Mr Hargreaves again this season or was he ruled out for the whole lot?

As far as I know Hargreaves won't feature at all this season, I've heard Ferguson a few times talking about him and his preparations for next season. Hopefully the operations will have cured him off the pain in his knees. It's been so long since we last seen him play, it's easy to forget that he's a Man Utd player. Fingers crossed that this is the end of his injuries, Wes Brown as we all know went through a period of 3-4yrs of injuries including two cruciate ligaments, so players can bounce back.

As a Liverpool fan, I am expecting either a draw or a Man Utd win tomorrow. We simply dont have the quality or depth to trouble them at the moment I think. A Liverpool win would be nice (wouldnt make a blind bit of difference in terms of the league, Utd already have that wrapped up, but always nice to win at OT and would be nice to see Rooney lose to Liverpool)

Amen to that, last thing I remember him doing in a United shirt was scoring the winner against Arsenal last season, a wonderful little free kick IIRC?

Last thing I remember him doing was scoring one of the best penalties I've ever seen in the CL final ;)

All I remember of the CL is this.

:D

I think hargreaves showed he is a class player by stepping up for the champions league final in a position he dosen't usually play.

OH is a class player without doubt - and not only that he can play at Utd level in three or four positions

I cant see Giggs' legs being ok for lunchtime tomorrow after playing the whole game on Wednesday - would be touch and go if the CL game had been Tuesday imo

Carrick has to start being such an important game against our main rival and a derby as SAF callled it (not sure it strictly is, but the rivalry /atmosphere around these fixtures seems to make it so)

I would like to see Tevez start with Rooney, although I think while Berba doesnt run, his trickery could outfox Liverpool easier than Tevez's graft

I would love Anderson to scrore in open play - I just dont think its ever going to happen in a Utd shirt - great player and hope he continues to play for Utd for a long time to come, but its rare he can even get a shot on target atm let alone be near to scoring

Im going to miss the whole game - due to other commitments - but Im going to be nervous all day til I see the result / MOTD

Blackburn suck, can't see them winning tbh, Fulham have been slipping without such a fluid attack(without their best player in Bullard) so they keep the ball less, defensively end up under more pressure and they haven't been as good at the back either. OTher than that Blackburn have been crap lately haven't they, they've gotten past "new manager" syndrome and got back to being poo.

Might be slightly more organised than when we played them early this year, but frankly they were one of our very best performances this year for two reasons, they have no good central midfielders and not much pace in central midfield. Coincidence, I think not.

AS for Song, as much as I don't rate him after the last few performances I would now rate him above Diaby. While he fouls its usually simple barges, not lunging almost red card studs in things that Diaby does. He actually makes runs into the box and actually PASSED FORWARD unlike diaby. Unfortunately Diaby's one decent 50yard long ball in the first Roma game he's now blasted it forwards the same way a bunch, all which were useless. he holds onto the ball to much and doesn't pass when he should.

Frankly Song(our only holding midfielder according to Wenger) has been much better when playing further up the pitch, partially as he's less of a liability and partially as in the box numbers matter as much as skill. Him being involved and marked leaves space for others. I still find it hilarious that our "holding" midfielder from Wengers own mouth is so bad we play him as the attacking midfielder while Denilson who looked the business two years ago in the Fabregas role is stuck playing defence. Basically the less defensive responsibility he has the better he looks(still miles away from good, but better is better).

If we lose this we're beyond pathetic, I actually liked what Hughes did with Blackburn, they had some physical players but were playing some good footie aswell. But this year the team is woeful, they are very very likely to go down and if we can't beat them...........

WE've got so many top of the table games to go excluding the cup/cl matchup's we might get, we can't, literally can't afford to drop a single point against the bottom end of the table. I'm honestly not sure, what happens with 5th 6th place in the league, directly qualified for Uefa cup, or does one or both of those have to go through qualifiers?

With a weaker squad than ever before a ridiculously long run of stages/qualifiers in the Uefa will only make it harder to regain ground next year.
