Barclays Premiership

Newcastle v Blackburn, 15:00

Craig Bellamy has stupidly ruled himself out of the chance of banging a nail or two into Souness' coffin by gettimg himself booked last weekend and thus suspended.
Squad for tomorrow is
NUFC: Given, Harper, Babayaro, Ramage, Elliott, Bramble, Boumsong, Clark, Solano, Emre, Brittain, N'Zogbia, Bowyer, Shearer, Luque, Chopra, O'Brien.

Bramble and Emre return to the squad meaning we only have 7 long term injuries , most of whom would be nailed on to start - Owen, Taylor, Dyer, Moore, Ameobi, Parker, Carr.
This list will more than likely have Emres name added to it by 5pm tomorrow after Souness has declared him fit - as he has twice previously , only to see the player breakdown part way through a game.
And whats more , it appears Matt Jansen agrees with me.

Freddy Shepherd isnt happy at all and has took yet another opportunity to take a swipe at the tacheless one here as it becomes more and more apparent Souness is sticking around because he knows Freddy wont sack him with the threat of a £3m payoff.
Hardman Souness? As a player maybe , but as a manager he is a gutless , spineless coward and this is portrayed through his team on the pitch.

In his press conference today Souness is looking for a rallying call from the fans , the same fans who help pay his wages and who are surounded in apathy heading into this game and who have , quite rightly , showed their feelings towards him at numerous away games this season.
He said "the players need to feel loved tomorrow".
If they actually played with any kind of conviction or passion they might well find that the love comes naturaly , we are easily pleased.
A good 90 minute shift isnt a lot to ask for , given the top brass we pay this rabble.
Amongst all this , the greatest player to ever pull on the Newcastle shirt will lead the team out looking for his 201st goal for the club to officially become the greatest goal scorer Tyneside has ever had.
No better team to do it against than the side he won his only trophy with , what a tragic waste.

Never a dull moment up here though , thats a fact. :)

Keep on keeping on , 2-1 win for the Mags.

I get this feeling Vandle doesn't like Souness very much!
I bloody hate him mate.
I wasnt impressed at his appointment in the first place and all he has succeeded in doing is affirming the seeds of doubt that every fan had sewn in their minds.
Take al look at the bottom of the table , we are in touching distance to the relegation zone.
Our next few games are :Blackburn , Man City , Pompey , Villa , Charlton , Everton , Bolton.
7 games , 5 at home , then a disgustingly fruitless trip to Old Trafford in the middle of March.
Anything less than 12 points from that lot could see us in real trouble.

Big backlash tomorrow I think , regardless of result.

Cygan, Cole, Toure and Eboue are all unavailable today (and Clichy too, obviously), so it could well be Gilbert on the left of defence today, or he could go right with Lauren switching sides. Otherwise, apart from RvP, who's not quite ready to play yet, we're fine I think. Oh, and Wonderboy won't be playing either.

Apparently, over the last four games we've played against Everton, the total score is 16-2 to us. :D

Cruel dig!!

You Premiership fan boys don't know what passionate football is about :D

Never mind Gilly, we will try and get something at Sheff Utd today to try and ease the pain your team experienced last Saturday ;) We won at Bramall Lane last season, so a double would be nice :)

We're getting brushed off the pitch here, credit to Everton though, there going for everything.

Gilbert looks like a player but lots to learn.

Our defence as a whole has not suprised me though. Shocking, how Beattie got in between Senderos and Campbell is beyond belief.

Edit   - should have been 2-0

should have had a couple of goals, and one of the worst offside decision I've ever seen, Henry was only 3 yards onside. That said Beattie really should have scored a second.

Need to play better in the 2nd half, take Gilberto off.

it seems Arsenal are in the same position as Man Utd are, win a few games and the crisis is over (well to a few people anyway), then lose against teams you should be beating. I expect a result against Liverpool and then for us to go on and lose a silly game. I mean c'mon Fletcher and O'Shea must instill fear into Liverpools midfield. All hail the mighty United central midfield, ye have been warned!! :D
