Weekend Football Thread 23-26 *spoilers*

Just because you keep saying its going to be alright doesnt make it so.

The midfield is weak, we have nothing going down the wings, and we offer nothing going forward.
We are just about good enough to beat the average teams, but against EVERY decent side this season, we have been atrocious.

Yeah, I agree the midfield could do with some added strength, but I don't feel United played their best midfield today. Anderson has looked very good recently.

United beaten Arsenal, and lost to Liverpool this season, they're the only decent sides United have played.

Masch was unlucky not silly. He slid to block the ball and his momentum took him into VDS who made sure he didn't get out of the way. No real arguements because they can go either way but he didn't do anything particularly wrong. And like Lucas most of his 'fouls' werent.

Mash didn't need to slide he didn't need to make that tackle with been on a yellow. He must have known if he touches VDS he'll be sent off.

RE: Lucas / Mash who could have both been dismissed / booked earlier on. You'll never take your rose tinted specs off and vise versa.

The Ref was very poor.

I'm not saying it was or wasn't a red but it's not comparable to Vidic's last season (possibly the first yellow he got at Anfield though). Owen was running away from goal and Johnson was possibly in a position to get back. Nobody was close to stopping Gerrard and he was in prime position to have a shot on goal. Again, it could have gone either way.

T'was a red :p

Owen was through to shoot on goal, Johnson was nowhere, he was in his RB position. Owen's not quick but he'd of turned and shot. Carra was very lucky. He knows it ;)

Agreed about the ref, he was terrible and it didn't suprise me. He was our ref vs West Ham and had a shocker.

Ref wasn't biased, he was just awful.

Johnson actually ran inside Carra and Owen, he wasn't in the rb position. At best Owen would have been shooting from a fairly tight angle and probably under some kind of challenge by Johnson. It wasn't a straight forward decision but I wouldn't have been suprised had it been given.

You really do make it sound like Owen was in no mans land lol

Owen was rugby tackled on the edge of the area, had the tackle not come in he'd of turned and shot. Johnson was nowhere and in no position to be affecting play.

Carra was either last man and / or denying a goal scoring opportunity. T'was a red :p

Who cares, Liverpool were better over 90 mins + poor standard of officiating.

I've not said it wasn't a red. Owen didn't have the ball under control so he could not have just turned and shot like you say.

The ball was played over the top, Owen was running onto it (away from goal) and Carra's pulled him down. Carra was the last man, but the rule doesn't specify that. It's whether he denied a clear and obvious goalscoring opportunity. The fact that Owen wasn't running straight through at Reina and Johnson was within 5-10 yards made it open to debate.

I seriously think you're talking about a different incident Baz :p

At least you've not been mean to me so far :)

Owen would have had a shot on goal had Carra not rugby tackled him, Johnson was nowhere. That was denying a goal scoring opportunity, he was the last man.

The ref just got it wrong, would it some how of affected the end result? Probably not. Liverpool got away with a lot, not down to bias, just the Ref having a poor game.

Does gallas not like diaby? didn't seem to want to celebrate with him but enjoyed celebrating with everyone else lol

:D

Can't blame him, Diaby is the single reason most teams will have a chance to beat us.

Jesus ***** ******* christ! Some football fans are just never happy, I'd take any of the Arsenal first 15/16 at Wednesday.

Diaby isn't a bad player.

Please do take him, or convince your manager to talk to ours and pay good money for him as he's been with the club for a few seasons now and the progress he's made is minimal. Only playing due to Nasri and Rosicky injuries and Arsene to afraid to let Ramsey or Wilshere play full games, they would both do better than him

We have no money my friend ;)

Diaby isn't bad, please don't blame him for everything bad about Arsenal. He's a good player, he's slowly improved and he's scored some important goals for (and against :p) you.

Rosicky isn't injured now is he?
