Hi Guys

Want to get away with the gf and another couple for the weekend at the start of March and wondered if anyone had any good suggestions. Was thinking of a self-catering cottage / apartment but i want it to have a hot tub and sauna. Location is anywhere within 4 hours of London really. I was thinking of York as i really like it there and think it has a good night life / good shopping etc.

Searching Google is a slow process so be good to see if anyone has any suggestions from past experiences etc :)

Cheers

Sam

Channel Islands? I've been over there a few times in the past 6 months and I love it. Aurigny, Flybe and Blue Islands fly regularly. Takes less than an hour to get there so including all the faffing around at the airport you could be there in 2 hours.

Paris... Seriously, ton's of deals on at the moment, £20 for the ferry.

I was going to go this weekend but got called into work because of STUPID phone system crashing :(

Paris is a hateful place, especially if you want to "get away" in the sense that you want some peace and quiet.

Me and BF have just come back from 4 days in Krakow.

Flights were only £50 for the 2 of us return from Liverpool - so from London Airports they might be cheaper still. only 2.5 hours flight - plus the food is AMAZING and sooooooo cheap. 3 course meal for £35

Worth a look if nothing else. There is also a hotel with a roof top pool and hot tub too...

The tranquil otter.

not sure if ts 4 hours from london though (i dont drive) think it easily must be by train though.

This looks FAB and is the kind of thing im after, sauna and hot tub and nice and relaxed, just trying to see if theres a pub near by :D

Good suggestion buddy however i want to try and avoid planes etc, want to be able to hop in the car and just drive somewhere :)

Im sure the girls would love paris but again i want to keep it to within the UK :)

York is closer to six hours by car versus four hours. Sure the trains much faster but there are plenty of things to see around York with a vehicle.

Maybe the lake district, plenty of peaceful spots there.

This.. apart from the Paris bit..(its filthy, smelly, and busy)

However, the Ferries are so cheap with DFDS I wonder how they make money...

Last time I got the ferry it was £19 !!

Eurotunnel can suck it, they are far too expensive in comparison.

EDIT: London to York in 6 hrs is 41mph average..... Thats mental.

Thanks for all the suggestions, i think somethig like the tranquil otter or Centre parcs would be great. Would love to do centre parcs but problem with that is to get a sauna and a hot tub you have to book the 8 man cabin which is £1300 for 3 nights. Bit of a waste of cash considering the 6 man is only £700 odd
