, it was taken on a beach a few miles from Formby (nr. Liverpool). There's actually a few really nice beaches up here, I was quite surprised.

Found another. This one taken when I first got my 400D with Tamron 55-200 from my house.

Cropped, straightened and adjusted contrast a bit.

I am compressing these quite a bit before posting them. Is that what you guys normally do?

Arkanoid that's a very moody shot! Where do you live? It could have been taken near me but then I guess all these small sea-side villages look the same

I live in Rochester, Kent. The picture is taken on the river Medway fairly near the estuary. It was a fairly foggy morning and all you could see was the boats. I just grabbed the camera and snapped with the 55-200 fully extended. Wish i'd taken a bit longer at it.

I still need to learn how to use the camera manually (and buy a tripod!) just not had time yet. I bought it just before the canon rebate offer started.
