Ill tell you the EU update, as from yesterday a DMC4 trailer and erm thats it I think lol. Must be too much NYE celebrations oh and we had an update last week unlike the US of A.

I think we'll call that the low point of PSN updates. Hope it's not a case of start the year as you mean to go on, if so, we're doomed!

I think we'll call that the low point of PSN updates. Hope it's not a case of start the year as you mean to go on, if so, we're doomed!

There have been some terrible updates over the months, but I try to look at it like this - You can't have an Uncharted Demo every week. It does annoy the hell out of me though the way the EU get treated with these updates, we still don't have Super Puzzle Fighter or PAIN, in fact do we even have Every Day Shooter?

No, we don't have any of those 3 and those are the ones that came to mind straight away.
It's not just the lack of demos that annoy me, it's a little bit of everything.

Firstly, there are a lack of demos but plenty of games (albeit 3rd party) on the console, I wouldn't mind a few demo's of older games to have more to download. Microsoft did this and it worked very well.

Secondly, they have a section for HD movie trailers, or adverts for Blu-Ray movies, they could quite easily put between 3-4 of these up every week, be it BR releases (past, present or future) or new cinema movies.

Downloadable content is lacking, though this is being rectified with themes being released on the PSN of which some I REALLY like, they are a million miles better than the next to useless garbage Microsoft release.

Arcade games are lacking, not only are not enough being made, the ones that are aren't major releases or classic releases like we've seen over on the Xbox Live Marketplace with classics such as SWOS, Paperboy, Streets of Rage 2, Metal Slug 3 etc.. As if that wasn't annoying enough, the ones that are being released are only getting released in Asia or America, we're still waiting for the ones you mentioned above despite them being popular games. It's not hard to add it to the EU, Microsoft manage to add to all 3 major regions at the same time so I don't know why Sony can't, if I had to pay £40 a year to be able to and get the same content then I, and I'm sure many others would too.

It's not a case of getting an Uncharted demo every week like you said, but some showing of Sony acting like they cared about Europe would be nice. Their attitude doesn't do them any favours with many people here and it's about time things change.

I totally agree mate, I'd love a load of the SNK stuff from the JP PSN but my Japanese isn't what it used to be, how hard would it be for them to stick the English versions of some old SNK PSOne games up on the EU store? I reckon they could do it in a few hours if they really wanted to.

Sony seriously need to quit shafting the EU, when in actual fact we are probably their best customers.

Yeah, really disappointed with the last two updates, though I do accept that Sony employees might like the odd holiday (US got nowt the last week of 2007 for this reason) but it doesn't come close to explaining the huge differences in release dates between US & UK releases.

Release Everyday Shooter and I will be happy, and the expansion to Blast Factor which is advertised as being available on the store (not on the UK one it isn't) every time I start the game up, and some other games - but mainly Everyday Shooter, or I might have to resort to improving my Super Stardust score until my thumbs fall off :p :)

I do admit to remembering early evening on just about every Thursday that there should be new content on the PS store. I then rush to my system and sit there waiting for lots of goodies to come tumbiling onto my screen.

Unfortunately - I usually come either disappointed or not impressed with what has been made available.

I dont know why though - I dont pay for the PSN - no-one does - I think we need to remember that and set our own expectations accordingly.

You also need to remember that Home is coming soon and that this MAY contain allsorts of unknown content - we'll just have to see when it arrives.

Lastly, I beleive that Sony have already mentioned that 2008 will see more focus on the PSN.

Dont quote me on this lot though !!.

Cheers for the updates anyway rp :)

The only thing I have a problem with is the way we (Europe) are treated, we still haven't got a number of games that the US has got, PAIN, Every Day Shooter, Super Puzzle Fighter to name but a few, there are more which i'm forgetting, and some are months old now. Sony Europe need a big kick up the bonnet!

Yeah - I dont know what the hold up is here - some say it's the multi language aspect but this just does not wash. I personally am waiting for Pain & the bowling. It's a niggle and in the scheme of things it's a small one.
