Weekly Playstation Store Update thread

I meant it was an improvement over what we normally get. I never expected us to get better than anyone else, why would Sony change the habbit of a lifetime.

I am not at home atm, but I have read the US update is live, and does indeed have a Turok update, They are also due to get the 2 Motorstorm tracks we got last week, for much cheaper ($2.99) (I ain't got motorstorm, but it is annoying that Sony's generally very good pricing on PSN and consistency across currencies is dwindling, it would seem)

(I will do a proper listing of the update when I get home, and put some details for the UK one as well maybe).

I was gonna download the fifa street demo earlier but didn't get time. I saw there was another folklore add-on. I reckon that must be the most expensive game ever!!! Every time I look there is more paid add-ons for it!!!

Apart from that, I downloaded the trailer for this Movie Cloverfield and that looks quite interesting!!!

US update is um up lol, looks about the same as the PAL one with the exception of Turok (1.18 Gb)

I've just got the Turok demo installing, but am feeling too tired to play it now, so will give it a try in the morning. It's all downloaded and installed anyway :)

Anybody else tried it?

I HATED the N64 and PC versions back in the 90s ;)
Don't know why, I loved a lot of games on my N64, but Turok was both boring and frustrating, and cost too much ;)

I wasn't going to bother with the Turok demo, but hey, it's free, so why not. ;)

Fair play to anybody who liked the N64 Turok, just my opinion.
I did hate it, and spent my time on Lylat Wars, MarioKart, Waverace, and Goldeneye at that time (August/September '97) Sigh, I sold my N64 last year... wish I didn't now ;)

Cool! Gotta give Turok a try, I've got my US account from months ago still, did they block the making of new US accounts now? Or false news?

Well I did have a quick go last night after all, seeing as it was installed ;)

I didn't hate it! ;)
(btw. I think what I hated about the original was simply the OTT fogging, and frustrating precision jump bits)

It proudly stated that it uses the Unreal Tech when it started up, so I thought it may look quite fancy.

No, not really ;)

It wasn't exactly awful, dual weapons were OK, shotgun in one hand, and sub-machine gun in the other. Blood when you shoot the dinosours spurting out.

You hear the term "generic shooter" bandied around here a lot.
I think this is one of them. Sure, it's "Turok" and has dinos in it, but I didn't even bother to play to the end of the demo. The graphics were, at best, average, and the standard running around shooting and chucking grenades didn't feel much different than any other game. Sure, as I said, it is "Turok" and you're shooting dinos, and it can make you jump as you suddenly are getting eaten, and madly waggle the left stick, or press the trigger buttons to perform a scripted "get free" move, but... hey, it's a free download, why not grab it, enjoy your free go, and then delete it again.

I for one won't be buying, although saying that, it isn't so bad, just a bit plain!

I think you confused ;) with your return key :p

Sounds like a rental then

Play the demo.

You may want to rent something else ;)

Naaaa, it wasn't SOOO bad, and I was very tired when I played it.
Still, I would only buy/rent it, if I'd completed everything I have here a few times, and was utterly bored.

It's playable, but... meh, plain, I thought it was a bit boring!

Turok was wack!

I stayed up late to play that heap of expletive.

Was terrible. It had the stupid King Kong when your hurt you can't see anything...thing. So you can't effectively escape from danger if you hurt as you can't see anything.

Played Turok last night, it's the worst demo I've played in years. It's woeful. Every single thing about that was horrible, especially the controls.

Yes, actually I agree!

I think the problem is that I was trying not to hate it, due to not liking previous versions, if you see what I mean.

Trying to keep an open mind, meant being more forgiving than I would've done otherwise.

Yeah, it's crap!

and as for my using ;) for the return key, I see what you mean!
I was dead tired when I wrote that last night, and when I just read it back just now, I see what you mean. It looks like when you have a word processor set to show where you've used a carriage return. ;) !

I hated the previous version's on the N64 due to the controls, so this looks like a definate miss then :(

Oh well I probably wouldn't have brought it anyway, but at least I won't feel I'm missing out on anything.
