Weekly Playstation Store Update thread

I was willing to get it off PSN because it meant i might get it sooner, and be less hassle.
I think I read a while back that the disc version would be a day earlier than the PSN version though but I thought that meant that the disc version would be the 26th and the PSN version the 27th

And now I am at work so still can't get it before tonight when it will be impossible to get it at a decent speed.

Couldn't be bothered to wait for PSN update so I just went out and bought disc version instead. A certain high street store is offering it for 99p when you trade in Burnout Paradise ;)

Silliness on Sony's part, you can save 30% on that price if you shop around online, plus you'll end up with a hard copy that can be sold on.

The real silliness is them not releasing it online yesterday. Clearly they make more money per downloadable unit then each packages unit!!!

This is a CRAZY launch for the biggest game of the year so far on ps3!!!
So can anyone confirm if you can share this game or is it locked to the owners account?
Indeed, we need to find someone who was not so annoyed at not being able to download the game yesterday that they didn't goto a shop today and buy the retail copy instead, for cheaper!! Sadly I sense very few of these guys around (although if you are reading and want to share the copy with me, I am happy to test it etc).

but hopefully i can split the cost with 3 family members by sharing it through my account. Plus, i dont actually want a disk - only get lost/scratched and take up space.

i DO think however the price is a little greedy, and feel they could charge less (no packagin costs, or shipping costs or stores taking their margin etc)

I prefer the download option myself, Warhawk being a prime example, but I expect there to be an incentive. As you say, it's clearly much cheaper for them, so they can at least pass a little bit of that saving on to the customer.

*wags finger at Sony*

I hate GT anyway, so it's not an issue for me this time round, but I hope it's not an indicator of future downloadable releases.

They'll upset their retail partners if they start selling it below the RRP though, as you see with Steam on the PC. They could get away with it with Warhawk because the retail version contained the bluetooth headset so they could argue the price difference was as a result of that.

Not saying I agree with that but thats just the way it is presently.

As well as the stuff on tuesday this is what i can find so far
metal gear online beta (741mb)

Warhawk:Broken mirror pack £3.99

Lair (Deadly dragons pack)

and the newest gtaIV trailer 'Everyone's a rat'

Also i noticed that there is a Lair demo on the Hong Kong store, hopefully including the patch if not patchable may give it a download later. Had it on rental be interesting to see how much it has changed with new controls.
