Hello.
I was talking to someone about Windows Experience Index scores, and we found out that he had a very similar RAM as me.
Mine is this one, and his is this one.
As you can see, his is 5-5-5 and mine is 4-4-4. So mine should be better, right?

Well, I score a 5.2 on WEI, and he scored 5.9

I downloaded CPU-Z, and checked the memory section. This is what I found:

Does anything look wrong there, and if so, how can I fix it?

Check my sig for the rest of the specs.

Okay, I realised that it was running in single-channel, because I had put one of the RAM sticks in the wrong slot.
I have done that, and the score is now up to 5.6

How do I manually change the timings? Is it in the BIOS?

I had a look in my BIOS, and everything was set to Auto.
So I changed the settings to 4-4-4 15, and it didn't work - The computer turned off, then back on, then sat then running full pelt.
I ended up turning it off and back on, and it told me overclocking had failed.

Well, I downloaded the manual for the P5K motherboard (I don't know if I have mislaid mine or if I never had one), and it says that one of the options should be a setting to change the voltage, but I don't have it on mine.
I bought the motherboard about 3 months ago, but I don't know if my BIOS is outdated. Also, there are loads of settings on the BIOS for RAM, but none of them really say what they are for! I don't want to manually change the timings on something and find out I've done it wrong and cocked up my computer :(

Gaaah, this is getting so confusing!

Oh, I had a look at the SPD, and it definately is 1.8v So that needs to be changed too :(

I tried to update my BIOS, incase the settings needed were in the newer version, but no luck :(

Ooookay, I think I might be getting somewhere.
I fully upgraded my BIOS, and it laid out the settings better, so it is now changed to 4-4-4 15.

The problem is, I changed the voltage to 2.1v, but CPU-Z still shows 1.8v - why is that?

Well, I think everything is as it should be.
The numbers are exactly the same up there now, except for Command Rate (CR) which is now 1T instead of 2T.

However, I am still getting 5.6 on WEI.
I know someone said to not take any notice of WEI, but if someone has slightly worse RAM, but is getting a higher score, it bugs me to not know why.
