Weird 10 MB Connection Problem?

Hey guys,

Tonight I noticed my Netgear DG834G is only connecting at 10 MB to my PC

I’m assuming it’s been like this since I switched my machine off today to refit my RMA’d PSU?

I know for a fact that it was connecting at 100 MB yesterday, because I rebooted my router and I remember the network connection appearing briefly to say that it had reconnected?

So, should I clear the BIOS and start from there or is there an easier solution or anything I can try?

Btw, the network card is set to auto-sense (10 MB) but if I change the setting to 100 MB Half-Duplex it works fine…

Any ideas?

Cheers,

SW.

If you change it to 100mb and it works, then surely leaving it on that is the obvious thing to do

My Onboard LAN needs to be set to 100mb not 1gb otherwise my DG834 reasds it as 10mb.

Thanks for the replies :)
I just thought it was weird that it had stopped connecting at 100 MB automatically :(

Weird. Setting the speed manually, Half-Duplex, worked last night, now I just get, 'Cable Disconnected.'

I'm going clear the old BIOS setting today anyway, it probably should have been done straight after I installed the new PSU.

When I fitted it's predecessor, I remember having to clear it then to fix a few configuration problems... :(

Interesting

My connection does come through a switch?

I'll try that out...

Well I'll be damned, it worked :p

Thanks mate ;)

Looks like my 2 month old Netgear switch is heading back to base...
