Weird 3DMark 06 problem...

Hard to explain, so I've done a vid:

I haven't run 3DMark for a couple of months, it certainly never did that before.
For the record that vid was done at stock settings on my 7900GS.
I've also noticed that glitches are creeping in when I'm playing BF2142.

Could this be a dying card?!

Woah...erm nasty that. I would guess overheat issue or drivers at best, check the cooler for dust etc, if allready done so then tbh that dont look good. Try sticking a large room fan blowing into case at the gfx card just to gets temps down, sounds mad i know but run test again and see if the same thing happens. Will at least give you simple yes or no with regards to possible overheating.

It always seems to do it at that point, although a couple of times it's gone a little way into the CPU test before happening.
I can get back onto the desktop fine, I can even play BF2142 straight afterwards without any extra problems (just the odd glitch as mentioned).
Tried doing a screen grab when it happens to see what came out and it's perfectly fine?!
Could this be some sort of monitor bug/resolution issue?
Like I said, I've not had this problem with 3DMark 06 before, 3DMark 05 runs all the way through with no issues btw.

I don't think it's a heat issue, but I'll run it straight away when I get in, my PC is off so it'll be doing it from cold.

That really is just odd, still, it's made me realise that I have enough sellable stuff to raise funds for an 8800GTS 320MB!

Glad to hear .

The 8800 is more than double the power. Trounces your 7900 in Image quality too. Would be a wise choice even if your 7900 never had any issues at all. You'll also get some money back on the 7900 .
