Weird BIOS Menu

I was given a system this morning to fix and the system fails to boot after posting but the text on screen is all wierd and I can't understand what it reads.

Anyhow, if I go into the BIOS menu via F2, the text is all messed up also. Is this a sign that the BIOS itself is at fault? I tried to flash the BIOS to see if that worked but while any messages onscreen is impossible to read, I think I got it done but it fixed nothing.

With all my years at fixing computers, this is the first time I have seen something weird like this.

That looks to me like the bios has somehow became corrupted.

If a flash doesn't fix it, then you might need a new bios chip.

Given that you can't read whats on screen you may want to try an automated flash. See this page for instructions...

BIOS corruption, hmm not too sure as I'd not expect it to boot. Check out the vid card, CPU and RAM to make sure they are fine.
