Weird Bios problem

Got a weird problem. When I set some overclocked settings in the bios (version 20) alls well until I boot the system back up, and they revert to a lower clock and fsb speed even lower than stock! just before post I can see this on the Guru panel. But if I switch power off then turn back on my overclocked settings appear back sometimes?! But the system can be very unstable. I've tried clearing the cmos numerours times. The "Disable unused PCI clock" is set to disabled (due to a possible Guru settings problem after researching) Tried increasing voltages but nothing seems to stable the system.

My spec is as follows

A64 SD 4000+
G.Skill 2GB DDR HZ PC4000
Abit AN8 SLi Fatal1ty nForce4 SLi
Galaxy 7900GT @ 550/780
520w OCZ Powerstream PSU

Only trying to get 2.6ghz/260FSB default voltages (higher doesn't do anything?!) Tried a small overclock and it happens with this also. Its only fine with stock.

Is there anything anyone can suggest?

Also my comp has a fit before windows somtimes, and just shutsdown when trying to overclock. Seems as if anything changed in the uguru it don't like it somtimes. I'm suspecting 20 bios to be the problem. Never overclocked with earlier versions though!

Flashed down to 19 with no difference does the same. Noticed on a first boot it will set the clock speed down to 2000mhz and a simple press on the restart switch takes it back to 2600mhz. Very strange any suggestion anyone?!?

ok, you are raising the HT speed above the max limit of 1000 by having the fsb of 260, so in the bios set the HT speed 1000 (5x also known as) to a value lower eg 600 (3x) as they will allow you to run the higher frequencies and be stable.
