Hi,

Trying to get Wsus working correctly for remote users. So I have a Wsus downstream server setup at the remote sites all syncing ok.

Then in DNS, I have manually added an entry that is called the master wsus server but the IP address is the downstream server, if that makes sense.

I have done this like 3 times now and every morning the next day the entries I have put in manually keep dissappearing !

Any ideas why this might be ? Wsus at the remote site is a domain controller if that makes any difference ?

You're trying to point an A Record to 2 different IP addresses (the Master server and the downstream server). Why are you doing this?

Users are the remote site should just point to the downstream server (by GPOs) and the main office users should point to the master server (again my GPOs). The Downstream server then points to the main office for updates.

Then do it, check with whoever your Windows admin is and ask them to create the OU's and split the machine accounts up. They can then create the relevant policies for you to roll out your updates to the correct machines.
