Maybe somewhere here can shed some light on this
New win install on Conroe system, had a couple BSOD's, to do with Kernel stuff. Web search on event brings hits up that it might be a virus, but have kaspersky 6 and kerio firewall all of which report system ok. although kaspersky now reports errors, and can't update itself (ill try again in a second might be network congestions?)
installed Spybot, but on running said something to the effect that 'spybot had been changed and it doesnt usually so check for malware, spyware'. Just installed and ran hijack this and got a message that it couldn't write to the registry - however it still runs and I have a log but there doesn't seem to be anything to my knowledge untoward - hdd constantly access for a couple of seconds every 5 or 6 seconds - only slightly but noticeable.
Web browsing is sometimes slow, but prob a feature of ntl trafficking
I feel I have something wrong but just cannot pinpoint it, and all the errors coming up with installation of various spyware and virus scans worries me
any thoughts?
