Hi

I've attached a pic of a strange grpahics problem I'm having in all games. I haven't played any games on my PC for a few months as I got myself a 360 :D. No problems at all before only now, I have no idea what to do. Any ideas would be appreciated !

Thanks,
Marcus

looks like artifacting, memory from the looks of it. have you overclocked the gfx card in any way? also check the cooler on it for dust and check your temps. may be caused by overheating and can be repairable if you act fast. but any fannying around and you'v got a borked card on your hands.

memory artifacting as mav said, doesn't look like core since that generally looks multicoloured and dotted, either overheating or borked memory :)

can easily be sorted if its not permanent damage.

first of all check the temps on the card. and the case temps. from that can see if its heat related.

you may be able to underclock the memory and still getaway with a working card.

how did that artifacting appear, was it instant as the game level loaded up or gradually as you were playing for a while?
if gradually then its heat related. if instant then its borked ram.

No luck underclocking from the nvdia taskbar just says failed when I test it.

Current Settings :-
Core Clock Frequency - 300Mhz
Memory Clock Frequency - 1.4Ghz ( )

The artifacts or whatever first appear on the load saved game screen the text on each letter has little chunks missing.

Looks like its ****** imo !

hold on, a 6800le should have its ram running at 700mhz (350mhz ddr). im sure someone will have clocked on to this rightnow and will post you the fix.
looks like your ram is overclocked silly high.

Thats what I thought but was waiting for an expert back me up first :D . Like I said before I've had no luck changing it thru the nvidia control panel in the taskbar just says failed when I test. How it got to 1400Mhz I'll never know

Thats because the new nVidia drivers are bugged - and double an already doubled memory speed... the ram actually _is_ working at 700MHz...

If its a 6800LE with the extra pixel and vertex pipelines unlocked this could be whats causing the error - untick them again in rivatuner and reboot...

Tho tbh it does look like a memory related error and its possible the ram is failing or just overheating.

Maybe is the drivers, the driver with HD suppoprt made my knight of old republic to look worst, like the enviroment was not rendered.
Also Doom 3 and quake 4 stopped with a error in the rendering, some openGL issue, I tried other one and everything to normal.
