Hi guys here is the problem. I have an external drive a Maxtor 250Gb i only ever connect the drive when i have to backup files so far it had about 180 Gb of info on it, but this morning i connected it to retrieve something and it took about 90 Secs to show in my computor and appears to be empty.
I checked the proporties and it shows file system RAW,used space 0 bytes,
free space 0 bytes. I tried defagmenter is says cannot work with this drive, windows backup shows drive empty you can open it from My computor and no files show up. I am using windows Mce and have tried it on vista and win 7 with same effect. So question is how did the file system get changed from NTFS to RAW, and is there any way to revert to NTFS and retrieve the files. I hope someone has an answer as there are a lot of photos of pets long gone that i would like to get back. Thanks guys..
