I've recently started having these really odd problems with my comp, its only a few months old and has been fine up until now, spec is as below;

Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz

Asrock ConroeXFire-eSATA2 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Corsair 1GB DDR2 XMS2-5400C4 TwinX (2x512MB)

BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 7600 GT 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI£51.99 x 1 -

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB ST3250620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache

Sony AW-G170AB2 18x DVD±RW x12 Ram Dual Layer DVD-Writer

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 775)

Antec NSK4400 Mini Tower Case - 380W SmartPower PSU

Basically its started really acting up, say I come home from work, 1st time i turn it on it boots fine and after 10 mins of use it will bsod. So i reset and this time it hangs in the boot sequence before detecting any drives - 3rd time (usually) it will boot a little slowly but will load windows and then can be used for hours without problem!!

Weird thing is it does this pretty much every time i come to use it...really am not sure what the problem is...any help would be sooo appreciated!!

First step is to run a scnadisk of your drives if its hanging on drive detection. Then download memtest and run that to check your RAM. Give prime95 a run on your cpu to make sure thats not throwing up errors (very unlikely but worth a check).

If the machine is overclocked put it back to stock. Try resetting the BIOS to default values and see if that helps.

Have you changed anything with the PC lately, ie: Hardware, BIOS, drivers?

What does the BSOD say?

Run memtest86 for about 5 - 10 passes (youll see when the program starts). If it comes up with errors, your RAM is faulty. You need to write it to CD and boot off the CD, its a bootable program.

Thanks for the replies, havent been near a comp over the weekend but i noted down the short error description from the bsod....it comes up with 'Kernel data inpage error'.... :confused:

will give memtest a go tonight when i get home from work, anyone ever encountered this bsod though? Cheers again chaps!

That sounds like a possible memory or hard drive problem. As stated above try running memtest and then run a full scandisk of the harddrive.
