Weird Hobbys? - I keep Dart Frogs

I collect scabs or to put a finer point on it, dried grazes. I don't eat them or anything weird, I just collect them. I would like to expand on my collection of celebrity scabs but it's very hard these days. It's alright being an autograph hunter but waiting for that dried blood/pus/skin combo to simply peel away of it's own accord is time consuming. I have to admit to forcing the issue somewhat and attempting to peel before they are truly ripe!

:eek::eek::eek:

/hides before being added to collection :D

Weird hobbies eh? How about:
Stunt accountancy
Synchronised St Vitus' Dancing
Mountaineering in Holland
Taking running jumps off sand dunes (20-30' drop)

Note: only one of the above is true ;)

Atm abit of reading stuff I really know little about and making levels for source based games. With the HL2 levels I keep setting myself goals to achieve which ive always wanted to do but didnt have the knack to do it until now. Best mate joined in and we are doing my house to his house deathmatch lol, nearly ready as well :D

ps blowing up a 3d model of your own house is stupidly fun

That'll be stunt accountancy then ;) (still trying to imagine a likely scenario...)

Does anyone have any weird hobbys at all, this is mine!!!?

Jon
I keep tarantulas, anoles, tree frogs & fire-bellied toads :)

Really interested in your dart frog hobby though (have always been interested in dart frogs), how long have you been doing it?

What sort of things do you need to get started, and is it an expensive hobby?
Any useful information/links would be much appreciated.

Do you need a DWA license, or is it true about them losing their poisonous nature whilst in captivity? Iirc they get it from things they eat in the wild, but I'm not sure on that.

Thanks :)

Ive been keeping them now for about 2 years. I started with reptiles when i was young and moved through to darts :D

Well you would need a viv 1st, an all galss one can be made for you for about £50. Then theres the lighting, UV is not required for most species (but dont get me started on that debate) so thats another £30 or so.

Food consits of mainly Fruitflys which most keepers breed themselves, tropical woodlice, springtails, firebrats etc.

Any useful information/links would be much appreciated.

Im going to regret this, but have a look at my site - www.dendroworld.co.uk

No DWA needed (thank god) and none of the frogs I keep are dangerous. It is true that they reapidly lose their poison in captivity, and all the ones I have are captive bred.

Frogs cost you anything from £20 - £500

Dont ask me how much ive spent on mine so far lol

I go walking every weekend for approx 16 miles over hills etc...however last Saturday I did a walk from 7pm - 3am over hills etc. Am a full on outdoor walker and best bit is I rarely ache or get tired so it suits me.

I collect G1 Trasformer related stuff, not an overly common hobby but I probably wouldnt class it as weird either.

Suppose my hobbie is collecting DvD's same as everyone else i know but im not that interesting :(

or collecting petrol powered toys (varuious cars, go-ped, offroading go cart) g/f hates it im a bit impuslive when buying stuff, currenly looking at westfields / duttons hehe :)

would love to keep some sort of reptile one day though geko / chamelion but gotta get my own house first for something like that
