Weird homehub problem?

I've had the homehub for about 2 months and its been fine, especially the wireless.

In the last few weeks I've been having problems where pages wont load and the connection seems down. This happens on both the Wired connection and the wireless to the laptop.

Yet I turn on xbox live which is also wireless and it connects everytime. Even when all else is down.

Sometimes a reboot of the hub fixes it, sometimes a pc reboot and sometimes turning off zone alarm for a few minutes and then back on fixes it. I cant nail it down to one thing. I'm starting to wonder if its zone alarm because it's been happening since the update (free edition).

Or maybe it's the hub but why would live still work and other wireless fail?

Anyone else had a similar problem?

I have the same problem.. Its just the Home Hub... its free so what do you expect :) lol

True but why would live connect but not another wireless user

I'm starting to think its zone alarm, I might change it for something else for a while to see if the problem persists. If not I might just look for a new router/modem. :(

Nah man, Seriously the Hub is Unbelievably rubbish. The slightest change in anything can make it mess up

Ah damn, I suppose I've known all along it was pap but was trying to get by without more outlay :D

I've been looking at this 'Netgear DG834GT 108Mbps' http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-071-NG&groupid=46&catid=116&subcat=143

Before I waste more money anyone confirm this is better than the hub and will work fine with a 360, Wii and PC on BT adsl???

Thanks

Yep, Netgear make great ADSL Routers... Better than Linksys i have found :)

Thanks I will get one ordered this week and replace the Hub, see if that improves things. Shame the hub has been faultless on the 360. I'm a long way from it and the signal has always been spot on.

dude even the change in the wind direction is enough to upset a home hub :D

they really are the devils spawn of ADSL modems, even a voyager 2900 is better than a home hub.

Call BT tell them its crap and ask for the voyager.

.

LOL

I know its free and you shouldnt complain about free stuff but surely its caused them loads more problems than its worth.

Try manually changing the wireless channel it uses. I had one here and all of a sudden the wireless started becoming flakey - wireless cards that had been connected fine for months started loosing connection - checked the HH and the wireless channel had changed to another from its previous setting , set it back to what it used to be and hey presto rock solid wireless again. Different channel may make all your machines connect fine .

My current gripe with it is that it keeps crashing if i try to make more than one change to its settings in a single session i.e try and add the app service for more than one game and it just stops responding usually
