Weird internet problem

Ok basically when I'm at work connected to the buildings server with my laptop it will work fine then randomly big chunks of the internet won't work. For example google and yahoo.mail. Infact the other day the only sight I managed to get on out of those that I tried were these forums. No sigs loaded though

When I use the same laptop at home though it works fine x2

A reboot seems to sort it but its a pita having to do that just to check the company email account. Other times it will just sort itself out.

Any ideas before a laptop gets launched out of the window?

Sounds like a DNS problem to me.

Next time you are home, ping one of the site you know doesn't respond at work and make a note of it's IP address.

When you are next at work, ping the site again by name and if it fails ping it by address.

If it responds by address its a DNS error and your support people need to get involved to fix it.

Thanks for the input. I'll give what you say a try.

TBH since we've been in the new building we've had nothing but trouble and there seems to be someone in the server room every other day
