Tonight I booted up the computer to get vertical lines (4 sets, spaced out across the screen - sort of collections of dashed lines) displayed on the motherboard flash screen during the brief time it's displayed. Then it disappeared when the graphics card information was displayed, only to appear again over a BSOD a bit later. If I boot in safe mode (which is possible), everything is fine in Windows, but it BSOD's if i don't choose safe mode.
What I find strange is that everything is fine in safe mode in Windows, but it doesn't even boot up in non-safe mode. Fine I think, it must be a windows problem *but* the corruption occurs on the bios start screen when the computer is turned on which says hardware. But, it doesn't occur in the BIOS screen itself.
Confused.... Graphics card? Motherboard? Any ideas?
