Weird latency problem

Hi all,
I'm being baffled by my network connectivity :-/

Using speedtest.net by wireless from my PC I seem to get an average ping to closest server of about 30ms and then roughly about 30/40mb throughput in speed.

Using a cat5e cable on same site, same server I get a ping of 60ms but up to 100mb speed (i understand cabled connection is better) but why are my ping times suffering so much?

I have also tried with a spare cat6 cable I have and also currently i have cat 6 to zyxel switch, then cat 6 to PC.

So whenever I am cabled I'm getting ping of about 60ms but wireless I get 30ms

How the heck is that happening!?!?

Just ran a pingplotter form the main PC and it is registering AVG of about 20ms to BBC so guessing like you said, speedtest.net's ping test is rubbish :-)
