Question, would about an hour 1/2 of stop and go traffic at avg rate of 15mph according to the computer drop my 06 320D SE's MPG so bad its averaged 22mpg? :D Was one of the worse days of traffic for me, 40 min 11 mile trip took about 2hrs :o I expected a mpg drop, but this was rather drastic to the usual 40mpg+ even in stop and go..

Doesn't sound too bad, my 05 525d only manages 23mpg commuting into Liverpool City Centre from the suburbs.

Trip computer currently says 23.5mpg with average speed of 19mph.

Guess you're right, mpg has been odd this winter. Is there any goddamn way to turn off the AC when the heatings on? I've seen a drop to around 29-33mpg on the coldest of days as i've got the thing on all journey.

It must have a seperate AC button? On my e60 it's labelled with a *********.

I do have that snow flake, however i can hear the compressor come on and off even when that button is not lit, also can get frigid air if i turn the temp down (in warm conditions). I've got dual climate if that makes a difference.

Of course it would, welcome to the realisation that diesel is not a constant voyage of amazing fuel economy.

Yes, press the *********, but seriously, why do this? AC isnt just about cold air. Leave it on.

Never said it was? I'm sure a petrol would work out cheaper for my 5 time a month trek to Newcastle and Aberdeen.

I'm currently averaging 13mpg from my usual 16 in this cold weather, if your stopped for more than 30 seconds is it best to turn the engine off in stop start situations.

My MPG hasn't really changed much, even with the cold, still running about 17-19 around town and, 26 combined and managed 32 on a long motorway run the other day, so more or less normal, well down about 1 mpg I suppose.

Just leave it on all the time - it makes virtually no difference to your economy!

Jesus man that's terrible, is the car modded?

Modded or broken. :p

I noticed on MR2 forums people thought getting utter ass mpg was ok because it was a 241bhp Turbo etc. Trying to tell them that their car was broken or they drive everywhere like its a trackday was useless.

In a way you did...

Fox picked up on this and said..

So...yeah..

Are you some fox loving troll or something? :D

Ok i'll leave the AC on. I'm not stressed about the mpg for cost reasons, just a little worried that something may have been wrong as i usually see tremendously more mpg than that usually, even in stop/start bumper to bumper traffic, guess the season and immense amount of accidents and roadworks are the major contributing factor.

No I had it set up at Zedworld on Consult and everything is as it should be.

But its an auto and I only drive 7 mile each way to work which is half through town to start with and then the rest on 60 mph roads with quite a few traffic lights, journeys other than work are usually less than 5 miles. Then at the weekend if its nice i'll have some spirited driving.

When I drove to Newquay last year 300 miles each way it averaged 26 on the Mway.

Its bad but as I do less than 5000 miles a year I can live with it.

Let me get this right, you said something, fox said something, you said no I didn't say that quoting, I with evidence pretty much said you did...now I love fox?

So if Justintime ( first name I saw ) said it would I be a justintime loving troll ?

Ok you win. I'm not getting into pointless arguments, if i said it, then its so. What i said and what Fox said is not the point of my post ok? Why threads just can't be straight up and factual without devolving into bickering and oneupmanship is really beyond me.
