Hey all,

got a Gigabyte 560Ti and due to Diablo 3 coming out I decided to clean the insides of my PC out.

I simply removed all the dust and made sure it was all nice and clean, since then whenever I load a game up, be it Diablo 3, HL2 etc, I get this small tingling type noise for a few seconds then it goes away and when I close the game it comes and goes. Literally within 10 seconds or so.

I can only assume its the graphics card kicking in and then shutting down and aside from the little noise theres nothing else wrong, all games play fantastic on highest settings with no image problems.

I have Afterburner up and seems it starts the noise when the GPU Usage % starts and ends.

Any ideas or should I just accept this as the norm from now on?
 
Not 100% sure, but if it could also be described as a buzzing electrical sound, it might be coil whine. I hear mine the most when running 3dmark11, since the benchmark has no sound and it's quite GPU intensive.

If it still performs good and isn't too much of a problem, then I wouldn't worry too much.
 
I remember once I took my gfx card out and did a bit of dust cleaning in my case to be greeted by an annoying sound coming from the gfx fan. The little plastic cover over the logo on the fan had slipped off and into the cooler and was catching on the fan.

Not saying that's what happened but something similar since it has only appeared since you cleaned the case out? Or are you saying you just got the card and also cleaned the case out?
