weird noises when scrolling

hi there

with my 3700+ PC I scroll the mouse and it makes strange noises through the headfones, has anyone had this problem before - if so is there anyway to fix it? it changes tone the faster I scroll webpages.

are you sure its the headphones? i have a high pitch squeal, barely audible, but have narrowed it down to either the invertor for my EL wire on my IDE cable or the RAM. The noise stops when scrolling so it sounds similar
