Hey long time no see overclockers :D

I have been having this issue for a long time now and finally thought id actually fix it rather than putting up with it.

When my pc either hibernates or gets the plugged pulled, so basically when its not "shut down", it will not turn back on properly... i will get power to CPU fan and all case fans, hdd and all hardware but i will get nothing on my monitor and nothing to my keyboard and mouse (no lights to show power).

It will work again eventually if i leave it off for some amount of time... sometimes days sometimes 10 minutes. I have a bit of IT knowledge but this is just weird... its very inconsistent so i doubt its a power issue, im thinking i should grab a new mother board and see if that fixes the issue.

anyone have any ideas to help me fix this?
Thanks

edit:i have an old motherboard so im going to get that in and try to force the problem il let you know how that goes shortly

sorry for my appalling grammar :D

Ok update: ive worked out it only has this problem when it is in sleep and the power is flicked off at the mains or pulled out. So i can avoid ever doing that.. but anyone know why that would be?

I believe it is something to do with overclocking. The sleep states don't work properly if the CPU isn't at its native speed or something along those lines. (sorry for being vague, I can't quite remember)

My PC won't wake from sleep either with my 2500K @ 4.6GHz. I manually re-activated hibernation mode (it is disabled on Windows 7 by default) and I just use that instead. Or leave the PC on.

e; sorry, I didn't read your OP properly... Ignore. :p

mine is at native now, has been for a while but Yea i disabled hibernation which i thought was the issue before, il have to just remember not to flick it off while its in sleep (i always do that as i cant be bothered to wake the pc to then shut it down)... im so glad i finally know why it happens. Stupid pcs :P il have a look around the web see if this is a known issue
