Got new point of view 7900gtx graphics card about 2 weeks ago and everything seems fine except sometimes when I run 3d mark 5 or playing a game when i exit the application the screen keeps flickering in and out of existance even though the moniter power is still switched anyone else had this weird problem.

Likely RMA time for your card. Many 7900 series cards were sold faulty (Nvidia Sudden Death Syndrome). Generally that is a precursor to the card failing completely.

Has anyone else had same problem
I am having the same problem with my card. I have had it for about 4weeks now. At first there were a few graphical anomalies and glitches present. Now whenever I run a resource taxing game such as Chronicles Of Riddick or Doom3 on High settings (which I should be able to anyway considering my systems specs) after about 30secs the screen starts to become patchy. Recently it has started to lock up and when you exit from these games to Windows, ultimately you get a shutdown and restart procedure. GREAT!!!!
Looks like Gainward are having this card back. Is there an inherent problem with the latest versions of GPU's from Nvidia. I sold my XFX7800GT for this 7900GT now I am seriously regretting it!

Yes, 5% failure rate. Twice as high as any graphics cards in the last few years. :(

Obviously depending on the manufacturer of the graphics card, do you have any idea how Nvidia are dealing with this and returns? 5% failure rate is a lot!

They're attempting to switch the memory on them from Samsung to Infineon but it's not helped yet, they think the problem might be in the voltage regulator (so people have, in essence, been volt-modding cards with bad voltage regulators.)

This card I have here is a one of Gainwards Golden sample versions with a red PCB and different memory chips (1.2ns), supposedly! Would the volt regulator issue you mention above still apply to different memory chips? The question I will be asking Gainward is, have they really put different chips on these boards to make them unique to other manufacturers, or is it just a selling point?

Are they Infineon chips?

I couldn't honestly say. I wouldn't know where to look? Under the heatsinks, would that be right? If so, they are sealed on and I do not like the idea of removing them before sending the card back. I am really diappointed because oinitially this card seems to have been a great performer and now I am going to be without games for the foreseeable future. I have a distinct feeling that this problem is going to re-occur when they eventually send me a replacement card. Are Nvidia replacing the 7900GTs GPU's???

This is my second card now problem is that it runs everything at the moment expect when u exit out of games like fear or 3dmark 5 just worried that OC is not going 2 spot the problem and send it back to me because sometimes the problem occurs for a few days then it seems to fix itself and it wont happen for another 2-3 days however I dont want 2 leave it any longer or this card will go over its 28 day return policy.

Also I've read on another post about a fault with the new nvidia driver some other people are having similar problems to me do you think this might be causing my problem.
