Weird problem

hi, my computer has been acting strange over the past few days. It decided to go from 60 gb-6 gig of hdd space. There is hardly anything to uninstall so its a weird problem. Any way to fix this apart from a format. And also how do i format a hdd

60gb to 6gb??? so when you right click the drive within 'my computer' and select properties it tells you you have 6gb?

are you running xp?

yea im running xp it turned on saying its using a temporary profile, i managed to get back onto my original profile but still have 6 gb hdd left
