Weird Sound Problem

First if this is in the wrong section im sorry and please move.
Ive been asked to sort out this problem but im stumped.
The problem is this. my mate can listern to live streamed music, watch ITV's iplayer, C4 catch up. All no problem with sound at all. But when it comes to the BBC iplayer and Youtube he gets no sound at all even with all volumes turned up.
The sound card he uses is a trust 5.1 with latest drives. codecs are up to dates as far as he has klcodec461 installed.

you do know that youtube has started to stop some videos from producing sound right? there have been quite a few complaints about it on the comments section of the videos, also you might require codecs to get audio to play properly?

Tried installing the latest Adobe Flash? Can't remember what BBC iPlayer uses (removed it a while back).

would adobe flash help? i thought that was just more or less a browser plug in?

Sounds like a problem with Flash plugin to me. Just google get adobe flash and go to the website and install the latest plugin.
