Weird sound problems

Hi, basically i'm having a problem whereby my sound in skype volume for my microphone will change to max when i launch dota and sometimes in other games. also i am having an issue whereby my sound in control panel wont open for about 5-10 minutes. Its getting to be a real issue and i have no idea how to resolve it, google has given me no joy.

I dont play Dota, but some games i do play have built in voice comms which tend to interfere with my Vent/TS/Mumble, if these games you play do have built in comms try disabling them.

so more weird problems, i came home after being out for most of today and my computer is off, no blue screen and when i launched it started with the screen that asks if you want to start in safe mode or normally and chrome said it had closed unexpectedly when i openned it. the last event log was about 20 minutes before i turned it on and there are no errors at that time and no signs of a shutdown. wtf is going on, first my sound is having issues and now my pc is randomly turning itself off. Going to go and see if anything else in the house lost power but my thoughts are that my motherboard might be dying as im using onboard sound and also system power loss might be due to it
