I did a fresh install on my Packard bell with a OEM vista disk i bought for a different build. Now i the install went fine, but after that the logon screen appeared with a user account from the previous install. I have tried the password and a few others to no avail. So i have a couple of questions, should i have used an OEM disk and what do i do now?
Help would be great.

Yes :p, but i don't think anyone would have done anything. Also another thing thats a little strange is that the hint is from a previous account and wasn't the newest on that was used. Ill give it a reinstall again, so is using a OEM disk with a packard bell fine, should there be any complications?

Shouldn't be any complications. Only thing I can think of is if it's a recovery disk rather than a Windows install disk, but it sounds like the latter. I can't see how a password hint could remain from a previous, formatted installation..

I reformatted and all was well until i started getting messages saying:

C:\Windows\System32\cryptnet.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error.

So whats that all about? In the error window that opens it has: WinSAT.exe - Bad Image

So again im stuck, it doesnt seem to be causing any problems but the error comes up 6 or 7 times on startup and when i try to install a program.

Odd. Copy it then delete it and see if you stop getting the errors :p
Ignorant solution but if it works.. if something breaks you can copy the copy of it back into the folder.

nope doesn't work, it says i need permission to delete or replace it, i keep pressing try again but it doesn't do anything. This is really annoying, google has no answers.
