I'm working from home today, and as such am doing my first ever full days work running Windows 7 - spreadsheets, 200 page documents, music, MSN, Outlook, Skype, the works - and it's fantastic. I'd only previously used it as a games/music hub, and hadn't really appreciated it, but the navigation's come on leaps and bounds since Vista, it feels great to use, and the shortcuts to shift the windows around the screen make such a difference.

I know that I'm saying nothing that none of you don't know already, but just thought I'd share. Very happy :)

Shame I can't get Outlook 2010 working and need to stick to Thunderbird though. Guess MSFT can't do everything :p

It's even better when you have dual screens and can just WINKEY+CURSOR KEYS to move windows between monitors.

I imagine it is; unfortunately I can't really justify dual screens on a computer that doesn't get a great deal of use. Then again, I can't really justify having an i5 setup either.

Hmm...

A 2nd screen doesn't have to be expensive! it could be free or £99 for a cheap TN widescreen :p

winkey + arrows = best thing EVAR

it makes life so much easier with widescreens allowing you to just drop a program on either side, microsoft really have done well with 7.

Going to give this a go when i get in lol:D

Definitely. I love the 'snap' feature on my laptop. Can't wait to get Windows 7 Pro onto my desktop - need to wait for a quiet day, however! (Which may take some time!)

Using Microsoft Office 2010 on Windows 7 here. Whats the issue?

Crashes every time I try to do anything; to be honest I'm not too bothered, I've got Thunderbird all configured happily, so will leave it alone until the retail version of Office comes out.

Windows 7 is lovely! Jump Lists are becoming my new favourite feature as I have a nasty habit of closing an application the second I am done, only to find I need to use it again - right-clicking the shortcut and opening the file I need is great! :D

Works great with RDP too, as all my commonly used hosts are there! Ahh lazy boy! :p

If you run an ATI card you can setup multiple desktops in Catalyst. No idea how good/bad it is - think I will try it tomorrow. Multiple desktops is a nice idea, I just never really used it even when I ran Linux as my main OS. Switching between Desktops became just as tedious as switching between windows, so I don't see a huge benefit - at least to the way I work.

I jumped from winxp to win7 and I think for once Microsoft have genuinely improved upon the previous version of Windows (XP in my case). I ran the Release Candidate version before the official release and didnt have any problems whatsoever loading drivers/running windows at all which impressed me a lot! Hearing about this windows jump shortkey makes me want to get a second monitor!

P.S. every time someone types winkey in this thread I picture someone winking at me for some reason :p
