Well done Microsoft

Hello Manic111,

Glad you are enjoying the Windows 7 experience!

Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum specifically for IT Pros located here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/w7itpro/ . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to also check the threads available there for additional assistance and feedback.
Also, if you would like to read what other users have said about their positive experience with Windows 7, you may want to check out the following sites: http://www.winsupersite.com/ and http://www.edbott.com/weblog/

If you run an ATI card you can setup multiple desktops in Catalyst. No idea how good/bad it is - think I will try it tomorrow.
Did you try this? If so, what was it like? I've got an ATI card but I don't use Catalyst. I use ATI Tray Tools which I suppose would prevent me using this feature.

I'm working from home today, and as such am doing my first ever full days work running Windows 7 - spreadsheets, 200 page documents, music, MSN, Outlook, Skype, the works - and it's fantastic. I'd only previously used it as a games/music hub, and hadn't really appreciated it, but the navigation's come on leaps and bounds since Vista, it feels great to use, and the shortcuts to shift the windows around the screen make such a difference.

I know that I'm saying nothing that none of you don't know already, but just thought I'd share. Very happy :)

Shame I can't get Outlook 2010 working and need to stick to Thunderbird though. Guess MSFT can't do everything :p

People look at me funny when I say I love Windows 7 but loath vista... they say "but its basically the same thing" IMO tho when you get down to it the useability is like night and day. Vista I always felt it was getting in my way, with a little tweaking windows 7 mostly just works.

I tried it earlier for about 5 minutes with just 2 desktops. It wasn't bad, but it felt a bit clunky. And tbh, with two monitors now I really don't see the point. Nothing I do can fill up two monitors, and stuff not related to what I am doing can just stay minimised. Switching between them is a breeze anyway in Windows 7.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it; when I switched off the multi-desktop my computer hung!

Vista was not a terrible OS. It was very good. It was, however, plagued with user issues. It could be the best OS in the world but if the user experience is rubbish, no saving it. :)

So a reinvention of a copyrighted Windows 7 wheel then. :p

Oh dear. :D

If it wasn't for Office's fantastic draft saving abilities I might have been a bit cross about having to do a "quick shutdown":D

I have the Ati 5770 and have setup the multi disaplay thing and it works good.

Only issue is , when i start FSX it changes the diaplay to not show aero. How do i stop aero on desktop 1 being affected when i run FSX on desktop 2??

Ive tried everything i can think of...

Matt
