Well Done Pirates-DMC4 Sales Poor

I WOULD have bought it for pc, but it came out on ps3/360 ages ago, and so I bought the ps3 version.

I did not sell because 99% of the people who want it already had it.
Pirates probably downloaded it, played it once and never again (thats what my friend does anyway).

As mentioned, if DMC4 was on pc first, I would have had it on pc...1080p, and if its not meant for a keyboard and mouse I would use the 360 pad I bought:) And most importantly, half the price of the console versions:p

I also heavily agree with the 'pc gamers are more demanding than console gamers' comments.
 
Reading through all of this only makes me want to download more, if only just to keep the people who listen to every word fed to them by these companies throwing their toys out of the pram once in a while. Very amusing!
I admit i do download things now and again, but I dont download anything i dont really want to try, and if it is as good as I hope, then it will be bought.


I know this doesn't cover everyone, because some people are just out for what they can get for free, but I do believe if a game really IS worth its price, then it will sell extremely well. Just a shame not many games are worth the money now.

I got it for the ps3.. i've played it a couple of times and then got bored of pushing the same button over and over again.
If i could go back to the release day, i'd of saved my money, pirated it and then deleted it 30 secs later.
 
well i bought it, not everyone can afford a nice pc and consoles and I would much rather the pc supported a wider spectrum of games.
The fact that it is also half the price of xbox/ps3 games helped.

PC games are so cheap now a days there is no excuse for pirating unless you really want to kill off the pc as a gaming platform.
 
Devil May cry 4 wasnt a good game on any system, HOWEVER, i did still buy it, for £14 second hand on the PS3 from game about 3 weeks after it was released.

Did DMC 4 do good business on the the consoles?
 
It's just an excuse for them to start putting stupid security on people who buys games officially. That's why I buy the odd games from Valve instead, has it's own form of security but it's not as intrusive as having to connect online to validate every time, or some other proposed idea by EA of validating once a week or game don't work!

Also a very big reason why people moved away from PC gaming, no need to install (to some extend with the PS3) and no stupid punk installation of security on legit users whilst pirates pop a crack over it and tada! It works after a double click.

Absolutely.

I think if they were realistic about the way they produced games and marketing games, they would in the end make more money.

There was no way i was going to pay £39.99- £44.99 for it new its a half arsed button masher with a load of nonsense FMV, BUT you can justify £14.99 to pass an hour or two.

Tefal, have you used a 360 pad for PC? For a fair few games (eg Grid, Geometry wars, audio surf) they're bloody fantastic!

Agree it works flawlessly in this game and thats one of the reasons I bought it.

We complain about poor quality console port overs and when we get a decent one people still complain
 
its not a crap game!
i found it to be quite fun on the 360 but it just isnt a game i would be playing on the pc.

No I own a pc so i can use a mouse :/

If the port needs a controller to be worth playing then it's a pretty crap port.

The controller aint crappy its one of the best out there & i have a 360 so i already have the controller.

You must be reading some threads with your eyes shut if you don't see how many ppl use a joypad for certain types of games like arcade driving games GRID,TMU,NFS..ect.. or other type of gaming with M.A.M.E.

Some games are simply better for joypads & DMC4 has full keyboard /Mouse support but you will be hard pressed to find anyone playing it like that because the combinations are huge & even if it was joypad only that does not make it a crappy port as its game type is better on the JP.

I bought a copy second hand for the PS3. I guess that makes me just as bad as all the pirates according to the developers.
