Well I fell down the custom keyboard world.

I figured as much, tried to find a set from a youtube video and its either sold out or damn right cant even find it anywhere!!

Unless you are watching that video as it drops, or within like a couple of weeks. It is likely the chance to get that would be over. The video drop usually coincides with the group buy for that product, they sent all the youtubers samples to promote them basically. Some do end up in production though, but they are also once all sold, they are gone, kind of thing.

Not sure how much you use Reddit but the MechMarket is a good place to find things that are sold out. You'll pay higher prices but it's a way of getting something that is no longer obtainable.

Unfortunate

No, not really. I have one and it's mediocre- I tried several combinations of switches, keycaps and damping and never managed to get rid of its "clackety" aspect. The RGB is great though, so I ended up putting some shinethrough pudding keycaps on and at least it's got "wow" factor.

For around that budget, my CIY X77 and EpoMaker TH80 sound way better with a little tweaking, and are available in ISO. If you can handle ANSI, the Montech Mkey is a fantastic feeling and sounding board right out of the box.

If you want something Aluminium (and note that Aluminium keyboards do not automatically sound or feel better than a decent plastic board), the Monsgeek M1 is a good option - and supports QMK/VIA as a bonus.

Thanks.
Epomaker was also on the list.
Will look up ones mentioned

Why not build your own @bastic with the Weikav 80 as a cheap start? It's lovely as a 1st.
before this thread and felling in to a YT hole, i've never realisd how many options there are...
might take a while to decide, buy, build...and be stuck in the upgrade hole LOL

This is how people end up with a dozen keyboard.

My advice...have like 3 criteria of MUST HAVE, stick to it so you limit your choices first. Like if you have to have ISO layout, that alone remove like 90% of the market anyway.

My sister was round at the weekend with her kids and her oldest was in my study having a mooch about. He looked at my keyboards and straight up asked me 'why do you have 6 keyboards' and my wife just smiled at him with such a 'yesssssss good kid' face.

Do NOT reply to your Wife "Why do you have 20 handbags?" - no good will come of it :D

I reckon I get away with it because her brother is big into motorbikes so the cost of a nice custom keyboard is significantly less than a bike!

In the grand scheme of things, keyboard is "cheap". Of all the things I got into “collecting” in the past..

Cameras - the cheapest one I own cost me £300 to £1600…and these are my Fuji mostly, which I consider my toy. I am not even thinking about my Canon/Sony which is for work.

Anime figurines - from £25 to like £300
Headphones - £80 up to £330
Lego – from £80 to £400
Guitar pedals - £70 up to £500
Guitar amp, £200 up to £2400
Guitars….from £550, the most £2200

Keyboards averages in around the £200 each range, my most expensive being the QK Alice (£289 + switches and caps...probably take it to around £450) which isn’t that bad all things considered. I have several camera bags costing more than that. Lol. Oh yeah, camera bags!

for start.. I want that look (network a twork is very secure and can't upload photos anywhere so a link to a vid is the only thing I can do...
I would get that kbd now just for that look...
Low profile for me I think.. and quiet switches so missus doesnt kill me... :D
