Well I fell down the custom keyboard world.

Nuphy Air 75 v3 with their silent switches. They do a British ISO layout too.
is that one in the vid or one recommended based on the initial requirement?
i was looking at nuphy..esp after LiE posted his pictures few pages back

down the line i was already thinking of white with black storm trooper look with some SW caps... and thats without even properly testing mech keys ...

He got the Magi65 i think.

Air 3 is the latest one out and it's what I was going to get (but cancelled because I realised I don't even use my Magi 65 (I have it too), because I just use my Halo 75 at work.

Magi65 isn't ISO though, it's ANSI.

If you plan to change switches or keycaps later, low profile will restrict your options, there are far more choices for regular size switches than low profile ones. Low profile switches are not even standardised, there are a couple of versions so the stem don't fit some keycaps.

earlier today seen a review on YT about nocfree lite
never been confident with touch type so will never venture that way...

I almost bought the Nocfree split keyboard about 2 months ago because I was running out of patience waiting for the QK Alice....before I slap myself to stop wasting money lol

Does anyone recommend a keyboard even better than the Nuphy Air3? One that provides a similar typing experience, similar build quality, all within a TKL form factor? Just wondering if there is anything better out there.

Many, but not many that are pre-built and it would require some trial and error in terms of switches and keycaps to get the typing and sound profile to your liking, or match the Nuphy.

I'd agree with @Raymond Lin - main ones would probably have to be the Keychron Q3 variants I would say.

The Air3 is a low profile board though, right? Honestly I wouldn't start a mech keyboard hobby with a low profile. The choice of customisability, keycaps and switches is orders of magnitude less.

I just found out that Keychron make a Q3 Pro SE Barebones ISO in Olive Green. I did not know that. So in my quest for an unusual TKL I bought one, added their quiet Banana switches and PBT White Mint keycaps. Looking forward to assembling it.

The SE has a big fat rotary knob and 4 programmable macro keys all on the left.

just realise I don’t have any dielectric grease for the stabs…guess I’ll build the Alice on the weekend.

Love the case that it comes in, actually everything feels great quality. I know it is expensive at £280 but the Keychron Q2 pro was £200 and this has more metal, more electronics, a custom hinge tent riser thing, a separate control dongle thing and nicer cables too.

Just watching a build video on the QK Alice. The guy says for 1.2mm flex cut board you need stab pads.

So I just ordered some screw in Durock stabs intead (which comes with pads) I might as well go all out after spending this much.
