Well I fell down the custom keyboard world.

That's an artisan keycap, aka, custom, you can get them on places like Etsy or even Aliexpress. These kind are usually handmade, you can get all sorts like Pikachu inside them, but those ones are obviously unlicenced.

One thing about these resin keycaps are that they are SA profile made for the top row, really tall and only suitable for ESC or the F rows.

As for keychrone keycaps, I only tried the ones it comes with and i did buy 1 set from their store, PBT it says....but I don't like it, it doesn't feel anywhere as nice as this set I am using from Novelkeys.

I like OSA profile caps now the most, the rounded edges and wider sloped sides just look/feel really nice against the fingers.

I will see what Novelkeys have and see if anything looks interesting but the Hacker mint set do feel nice, though not as nice as the ones that ship with the Q6 Max/HE, feels like a different surface finish even though both are PBT Doubleshot. The Hacker Mint ones are Cherry profile though so maybe this is what makes them feel that way, like most other keycaps.

The Escape key is from Etsy and hand made, not cheap at just over £30 for the one key, but I like space and this is rather cool so why not have a special esc key I figured.

My experience with Keychron keyboards (and I have like 5 of them), and their keycaps, both stock and separate sets, ranges from bad to meh. Even the double shot PBT ones.

PBTfans set I got for the Alice, also the set I got for the Q2 and the one i am justing for Q1 from Novelkeys is both made with thicker plastic and also with a nicer texture on the top.

The stock Nuphy ones are a bit between the 2.

The best stock one I've tried is the Magi65 but that is a low profile set.

I suspect the keycap quality does change the higher up the chain you go, I've had most of th inductive and hall effect switch keyboards from various brands now and the Q6 has been the highest quality by far.

The only ones to better these was from Melgeek on the Made68 hall effect TKL, those cape were unlike any other I've felt.

my switches from Thocc should be delivered today
will see what differnce only switch can make

These TMR switches on the Q6 HE are so nice now that I have had some time with them, the feel of the switch resistance is almost exactly like what I remember from the Melgeek Made68 which I really liked but could not find in any other keyboard. It's a combo of thock and creamy and sounds/feels excellent.

Video:

I don't think there is any point in doing a review or anything as all other features are similar to the Q6 Max, the differences being that there is rapid trigger, last key priority for strafe HAX in games which works amazingly and the customisable actuation distance/zone stuff which you get in hall effect keyboards anyway.

I will not be changing the keycaps, they feel superb quality and suit the switches and gasket system being used.

When I want to build a quiet keyboard I buy TTC Frozen Silent Blue Switches.
went for Penguins...
just picked based on revies found on redit, googlew, and fair amount of videos.
frozen, peaches and penguins were on the list, but couldnt find peaches

I like the key caps.
Will slowly look for some new for me.
Want letters in middle rather than side
Like the look of orange letters/signs

Just noticed that even though my keyboard was supposed to be UK iso @ is above 2 and not next to the enter key ( on key caps. ) it's programmed

Not a biggie but still

Yeah Keychron include the UK layout keys in the box but don't factory fit them even if your keyboard is UK-ISO, it also has the MacOS keys installed instead of the Windows keys which I always found bizarre. They come in the box too.

switches swap completed.
had to undo few and straighhten few bent pins...
not to mention that I've wrongly counted switches and ordered one short

its now quiter than mx s keyboard

need to get it working via via..tester works, cant get to layouts and settings..

Having procrastinated about keyboard for nearly a year now, I nearly got a ducky one for around £130 but then I saw the one mrk has and really liked it so I ordered one of those.
Though I went for pre build so it comes with the nebula switches but I think I'd have chosen them anyway as they were the middle of the three options and I have no idea what any would feel like.

Nearly went with the Wooting80 HE for the analogue keys.

You are in for a creamy experience, has analogue keys too by the way. .

Yeah I realised that after I actually read about it properly lol.
Only very slight concern I have is the keycaps, apparently 'shine through' are better for south facing LEDs but tbh it's probably a non issue. I just hope the LEDs don't die as fast as they did on my mini razer one, lost two blue LEDs.

Next stop is trying a lighter mouse.

I don't use the RGB lighting at all, just enabled indicator for caps lock and that is it, shine through not needed as even with just the monitor glow the keys are very legible.

that's a clever idea.
Can that be done in Via ?

RGB backlit is a novelty so still in use but it will wear off quickly.
will miss backlight for the keys for sure for late night typing....

had a quick go in gaming with new keybaord and as imagined, its completely diff to flat logitech and small travel required for keys to engage.

Wife's happy with how quiet the kesy are haha
