4x 80gig hitachi 7200, 8mb cache
I've been using dual RAID for a while on the onboard silican image 3114 (ghost 9 works on this too).
Got another 2 drives though 1 hitachi was called cinemastar not deskstar like the others & had a different name in the bios, though it works fine.
Drive read performance as tested in sandra1122:
1=56mb/sec
2=106
4=195
I also tested a single new model WD 250gig 7200 16mb cache & this gave 60mb/sec.
I had big probs at first with corrupt files etc. all because the silican image would NOT work with 4 drives.
Does anyone know of a backup software like ghost that works with an onboard nforce4 RAID controller?
