Arrived home feeling like some cheese on toast (which I haven't had in years!) and it's amazing how something so simple and quick to do, can taste so nice

Anyone else got some simple cooking gems?

Bread + Cheese + Ham + Bread

Stuff the bread in a toaster until lightly brown prior to assembly.

Toasties are good, but not in the same league as a simple grilled cheese on toast (it tastes quite different in fact).

Gotta say egg toasties are the best though.

Yorkshire Rarebit.

Same as Welsh Rarebit, only made with Wensleydale cheese and some beer sprinkled on top.

This thread has made me hungry.

Cheese on toast with grated cheese & chopped onion.
Cheese on toast with tuna mayo covered in grated cheese.
Proper bread (not sliced) toasted with a fried egg on & lots of fresh black pepper.

Wholegrain bread, toasted with beans on top, tomato ketchup with a few rashers of Smoked bacon...!!

Fried bread, with fried egg on top, or scrambled egg..!!

Poached eggs in white bread with butter..!!

Boiled egg sandwiches, with salad cress and dressing..!!

Cheese on toast isn't Welsh rarebit, you know. Rarebit has a few extra cooking steps but it's well worth it. Can be a bit rich, but as a treat it's great.

I made some eggy in the basket a week back, that was good. Really just egg on toast but done a bit different.

I lie the toaster on it's side so I can put the bread in it with the cheese already on. I know it's lazy and probably dangerous but that's the way I like to do it.

Once you have it done spread some strawberry jam on the grilled cheese.... Amazing.

Is that the same as eggy bread? Bread coated in beaten egg and shallow fried?

Gotta say egg toasties are the best though.

Cheese on toast is not Welsh Rarebit dammit, it's a cheap english knock off.
