... basically because the Government haven't confirmed that they won't tax any players who take part, if it wasn't so sad it'd be laughable.

Why would they need to tax players?

I won't pretend to know much about this, but does that mean the Swiss players got taxed for the friendly the other month? (I presume they get paid to play for their Country)

The rules haven't changed since final in the UK before, sounds more like a problem with UEFA.
