you should make moaning noises through the wall like your fapping and put them off :D

Oh god, thats the sort of hideous, generic, rushed, cheap, construction company template housing that I literally cannot stand.

WHY do people like this stuff?! Its bordering on environmental vandalism.

Live there and join the CLONES!

It's horrendous I agree, it looks so fake and artificial I couldn't stand living there.

Yeah, luckily it didn't exactly take a lot of time as we were looking at stuff in the area anyway.

Looking at it now it's not as bad as I remember, and maybe we were just being fussy :p

Was lurking and I clicked the link. I used to deliver the dodgy free paper to that road every weekend, wasn't expecting to see it on these forums. Wasn't too bad, a few dodgy characters though. I remember the pylon used to make crackling sounds in the mist.

I went to look at a place in St Albans. It was really nice but then backed onto a not so nice area. Anyway, we turned up for the viewing only to be met with some yob setting fire to the communal bins :)

So yeah, didn't take that place.

I find it amusing that people are so willing to buy into some developers "cram it all in throw it up for as little as possible" little money spinner. Horrendous doesnt quite go far enough for describing those kind of developments.

Worst viewing I had was a postage stamp flat in Nottingham in the Ropewalk area that as going for about £85 a week (not cheap). When you stepped into the kitchen you could touch all four walls with outstretched arms and close the door. The main 'living' areas was more like a nightclub cloakroom, with a tiny little balcony that you couldn't have put a chihuahua let alone a human. The estate agent woman was also unbelievably pushy and kept saying how she didn't think it would stay on the market long so we should offer now etc. Ended up in a place about 3x the size for a cheaper price about 500yds down the road.

Yeah, years ago we were thinking of moving closer in to London. We viewed a place in a new development next to the Thames (south of the river, further down than Tower Bridge) but amazingly it was already full of scally, so we just turned around. I can only think it was partially set aside for social housing, but you'd have to be mad to want to live in there by choice.

Haha! Not so long ago I was walking back from St Albans train station to stay at my mums (whilst I was still at uni I think) and came across some kids that had done that to one of the bins by a bus stop.

Stopped and had a very long whizz to do a service for the community there.

Hmm A pylon next door shouldn't be so bad. Stuff a wireless access point on the top and get wifi across the board! And surely a little bit of DIY wiring would tap you in to free leccy :p

ps. Any fatal electrocution due to this post is not covered by the forums insurance

Where I used to live in York, the whole end of the estate had clearly been set aside for social housing. At one end (my end), everyone took care of their houses/gardens and took pride in their environment. At the scummy end it was like Beirut. It was awful having to walk past it all on the way to work.
