Western Digital Caviar Black performance ?

I have a couple of Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATA-II 32MB hard drives.
I installed these drives exactly as they arrived, no extra jumpers or anything & they run fine and Win 7 rated them at 5.9.

I have just been told that I should add a jumper on pins 5&6 for better performance. Is this correct or not?

Well according the installation guide above - pins 5&6 are for 3Gb/s Data Transfer..? But if your drives and motherboard support SATA 6Gb/s - You might be better off leaving the jumpers in default?
