Its nothing to do with the bios. You need to make sure you have service pack2 installed for Windows. Then go into Control Panel>Administrative tools>Computer management>Disk management and format the unallocated space.

You can merge the partitions with something like Partition magic. To be able to access the full capacity from the start, you have to slipstream service pack2 on to the install disk, using Nlite.
