Just a quick question, Whats the difference between:
Western Digital Caviar RE 500GB 5000ABYS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
Western Digital Caviar RE2 500GB 5000YS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
Im not sure witch one to get, i want 2 hdd - one for the os and programe and one for video editing.
Apart from the price what the difference, is one better than the other?

The ABYS is the newer generation with a much higher platter density, so the performance is much faster in some respects. Definitely get the ABYS. (Or even the AAKS - do you really need the RAID Edition?)

The Western Digital AAKS and the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10s are considered two of the best drives on the market. :)

WD also do some drives which arnt sold on OCUK which have a lower cache but have loads of protection for the drives. Like shock absorbing etc so they last a longer time. But only an 8mb cache put me off.

They are coloured orange and cost more then the 16mb ones.
