Are there only certain wd drives that take this cable as im sure the wd drive i just bought doesnt have a molex connector on the back.

ive got two WD 500GB 5000AAKS,heres a pic of the back of the drive just a empty space where the molex power connector should be?

SATA drives can have specific power supply leads different from your average molex connectors used on IDE drives and optical drives. Whilst most modern power supplies come with these, you can get molex adapters such as this one.

In your case, you can't use the Secure Connect cable. The hard drive needs a molex plug to supply the power, because the Secure Connect only supplies data but still takes up both the data and power plugs.

ok, ignore my posts, i thought you would be able to plug a sata power lead into the secure jobby. Seems a bit stupid to me that you can't.
