I have a WD HDD purchased from OcUK which is just under a year old although has a 3 year warrantee anyway which has pretty much died:

WD Lifeguard Reports:

"Too Many Errors - Contact Technical Support. Code 0225" - Charming - LOL

Anyway, I contacted Clockers as I was not sure if WD would service as an RMA drive who advised me they could exchange but WD offer an "ADVANCED" RMA service.

2 Minutes on the WD site and ive requested my RMA.

The best thing is, I get a new/refurb drive BEFORE sending my old one back. Awesome.

Ive used my credit card as a deposit so if I dont send the duff drive back within 30 days, they charge my card. Fair Enough to me.

Never been brand loyal regarding HDD's before but with the 3 year warrantee and the advanced RMA service, I may consider only buying WD HDD's in the future if this RMA is speedy enough.

WD have been superb for me. Very reliable.

Even my 6 year old IDE only started having trouble a few months ago. She had gotten constant use for 6 years, starting clicking though. Still had enough life in her to let me back everything up and would have still kept going for a few more weeks if I'd let her. :)

I've decided to turn her into a trendy clock. :D

Got to agree with you. I don't think I'll buy another brand.

I've got four Raptors and the plastic bit round the SATA port on one of them came off. I went to the website and filled in the RMA form and it came back saying that the drive was OEM and therefore it has no warranty. Wasn't sure where it originally came from in all honesty, bought it off a mate about a year ago.

I gave them a call and explained everything and they've now changed the details so I can RMA it. Superb!

Not enough company's in my opinion offer an advanced replacement scheme.
Intel always used to, although as I haven't had to return anything to them for a very long time I don't know if they still do.
WD do and it is one of the reasons I keep on buying their kit - out and out performance is one thing, however support if/when things go wrong is equally important.

WD is a brand I have always been loyal to and I have never had any problems. It is nice to know that should I ever need support that they are quick, efficient and easy to deal with.
Top marks from me :)
