M8, that's old news, we have had reviews of it many months ago and its been on sale here for months.

Unlike most I am actually gutted it doesn't have a Window, you can see my Raptor X through the roof my case, I mounted it in the top.

few wmonths ago called & they want their post back. also will WD release the VR with a clear window in a similar way to the raptorX?

WD will not be releasing a windowed version of the VelociRaptor.

The 150GB is supposed to be Aug, the 74GB not sure.

Slackworth did say 150GB in Sep I'm sure.

didn't realise....my PC has not been working for a long time and my PS3 took me away from the PC fixing

So the Veloraptor does not fit in the normal HDD cages?

Thinking of picking one of those 150's up for my primary drive.
helmut "are all these velociraptors the same speed"? (seek etc)

the velociraptor is only a 2.5inch drive but it is attached to alarge heatsink wich then makes it regular size. also if you remove te heatsink then it voids warranty

Nobody knows, but the 300GB ones with latest Firmware are faster.

I can't remember exactly but real benches using HD-Tach were now 109-110MB/Sec up from 102-103MB/Sec approx (all Average Sustained Reads).

I have posted in here so search will find it.

They talked of a Single Platter version, that would be the 150GB IMO as the 300GB is 2 Platters.

Yes, its a normal 3.5" size due to the Caddy.

Only difference is that it will not fit into any sort of hotswap bays with the connectors in situ. The ports are a different config due to the 2.5" size.
